A new customer called me this past December that I helped resolve the plumbing issue that she had the last time we had that big freeze come just by calming her down after her pipe froze. This customer express her gratitude by calling me and telling me she had another plumbing issue last week. she said that a couple of faucets were leaking and maybe the water heater but I told her not to worry I'll come over and check out her problem the first thing that I check was the water pressure which I told her that probably was the reason she had multiple water leaks in her house. Once I checked the water pressure it was 90psi and the PRV that was there was the original one from when the house was built. I installed a new PRV with a water gauge so that way that she can check her water pressure at any time she wanted to and the leak stops so I ask her when she goes to the doctor what is the first thing he checks before he does anything to you? Since she works for a doctor she knew the answer. They checked your vital signs and blood pressure current temperature. as a plumber, the first thing I check is your water pressure That is the main source of plumbing issues in our plumbing systems. I installed a new PRV and I also went ahead and changed the shut-off valve. And I pointed out that the person that installed her water heater last year installed her expansion tank on the wrong side of the shut-off to the water heater. But it was crucial to change it at the moment. And explain to her why it was wrong she understood. A lot of pressure now is at 60 PSI and all it leaks in the house stop but sometimes it doesn't stop the leaks. The appliance I made out of plastic and water pressure is high-cost damage to the appliance if the leak didn't stop once the water pressure goes back to normal and you have to replace the appliance or if you don't you'll have a high water bill.
